Dr. Marguerite Weber

School Creator

Dr. Marguerite Weber is a distinguished academic leader and visionary in the field of education. With a career spanning several decades, she brings a wealth of experience and expertise to 212° International Academy. Dr. Weber has served as the President of Higher Learning Design, a role she has held for more than six years. Her company supports colleges and universities in enhancing retention-centered practices throughout the student life cycle, from pre-college imagination to post-graduation engagement as alumni advocates.

Before her role at Higher Learning Design, Dr. Weber served as the Vice President of Student Affairs for Baltimore City Community College, where she dedicated nearly two years to shaping a holistic student experience. Before that, she served as the Vice President for Adult Education and Professional Studies at Cabrini University for two years.

Dr. Weber's leadership extends beyond administrative roles, as she has held various key positions in academia. As the Director of Student Academic Affairs and Academic Initiatives at the University of Baltimore, she made significant contributions over an eight-year tenure. Her experience also includes serving as the Associate Vice President of Learning at Frederick Community College, Professor of English and Reading at Harrisburg Community College, and Dean of the Division of Academic Support at the State University of New York.

Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Weber has been a sought-after lecturer and educator, leaving her mark on institutions such as East Carolina University and the University of Maryland. Her dedication to the academic community is evident in her commitment to fostering an environment that nurtures students and prepares them for the challenges of the future.

Dr. Weber is a proud alumna of American University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English. She continued her academic journey by obtaining a Master of Arts from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, a Master of Education from East Carolina State, and ultimately a Doctor of Arts from George Mason University.

John Mahoney

Founder, 212° Academy, Basketball

Since 2020, John Mahoney has been making a profound impact as the Head Coach and Founder of the 212° Academy. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades, Mahoney has consistently demonstrated his exceptional coaching and leadership acumen.

Prior to his entrepreneurial venture at 212° Academy, Mahoney played a pivotal role in NBA scouting during the 2019-2020 season, showcasing his keen eye for talent and contributing to the professional basketball landscape.

From 2012 to 2018, Mahoney lent his expertise to IMG Academy, leaving an indelible mark on the development of young athletes. His commitment to player growth was evident in his tenure at IMG Academy, where he played a vital role in shaping the future of basketball.

Mahoney also served as a coach at various institutions, including St. Francis University (PA) in 2011-2012, University of Michigan from 2007 to 2010, and West Virginia University from 2005 to 2007. His coaching journey also took him to Duquesne University from 2001 to 2005, Robert Morris University from 1998 to 2001, and Mount Aloysius College from 1994 to 1998, where he consistently demonstrated his ability to elevate the performance of his teams.

Jared Antista has been rooted in youth sports since 2009. He Co-Founded Go Pro Workouts, a sports-tech company that partnered with pro athletes to bring their mental, nutritional, and fitness training programs to IOS. First, to market, they set the tone for the mobile fitness training industry. He then went on to lead Digital at IMG Academy owning e-commerce, web development, content, and paid media. After IMG, Jared led marketing for all of Legacy Global Sports. This umbrella company owns more than 10 youth sports companies including Global Premier Soccer, the largest youth soccer organization in the U.S. at the time with international reach. Today, Jared owns and operates IOI Ventures, a digital marketing and sales company focused on youth sports. They support dozens of sports academies, tournament companies, sports clubs, and more.

As the GM for DME Academy – Sarasota, Jared oversees the direction of the Academy as well as coaches the 2012G and 2011G Black Teams. Jared played & captained the men’s soccer team at Bentley University, a Division II program in Waltham, MA graduating in 2002. He has coached everything from recreational programs through collegiate levels over his lifetime and is hungry to grow DME Academy in Sarasota.

Mark Blaweiss

Academic Advisor

Mark Blaweiss has worked in education for over 35 years. He has held leadership roles at numerous universities, and secondary schools including serving as the Dean of Freshmen at Drexel University, Dean of Students at the Atlanta College of Art, Dean of Students at New College of Florida, and as the Director of University Placement at the IMG Academy.

Throughout Mark’s career he has focused on the factors that lead to a successful transition from secondary school to university life and since 2005 he has guided hundreds of students and families from around the world as they navigate the complex university search and selection process. Mark’s students now attend, or have graduated from, universities throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, and Australia.

Mark’s wealth of experience in the fine arts, music, and athletics brings a unique expertise to students with interests in those areas – whether as a career focus or as an integral part of their undergraduate experience. Mark has used his experience to also guide students to medical, law, business, and graduate schools across the globe.

Mark received his Master of Education from the University of Virginia. When not working with students Mark enjoys time with his family and is an avid bicyclist.

With just under 5,000 square feet, our pristine building offers a lobby/reception area, 8 classroom/office areas, open areas, conference rooms, large training rooms, supply rooms, lunch/break rooms, and multiple restrooms.

Our Location

The building is centrally located on a main traffic artery in Sarasota, 4.5 miles off I-75, providing easy access to surrounding markets. Sarasota Bradenton International Airport is just 8.4 miles away, and Tampa International Airport is 65 miles away.
